either..or，neither..nor，not only..but also这些连词在句子中的位置究竟放在哪里？

第一个句子是不可取的，尽管没有语法错误，但是不符合语言习惯。not only but also尽量连接两个成分中不同的部分。比如第一句中的speak carefully and speak clearly，我们强调的是“说的既仔细又清晰”，而不是“既说得仔细，又说得清晰”。第一个句子后面的speak实属坠余。更好的表达方式是第二个句子。

模仿你的句子我给你个连接动词的例子：
I can not only pronounce the words accurately but also imitate the intonation vividly.
我不但可以精确发音，也可以生动模仿语音语调.
这里连接的两个动词是不同的，强调我可以做到两件事。对比第一句中表达的我可以把一件事做到两种特点

not only 那个都可以，但是修饰的词语不一样，第一句里面是对动作修饰，speak。第二句里面是对程度修饰。具体语境具体分析。比如，either you or I can speak english.就没法放到别处。就是看连接的对象是什么。
弱弱的补充一句，英语主要靠语感，不要死扣语法，多读，之后就是靠感觉。通顺就没问题。

改成第二种对。因为两句中相同的部分省略掉。像你说的那样。这样的连词短语可连接句与句，词与词，短语与短语。如
Not only did the teacher show interest in the activity but the students were also interested in it.（not only位于句首句子用倒装）
Either you play games or you watch TV , you mustn't disturb me.
He is not only my teacher but also my friend.
You can call me either in the afternoon or in the evening .
He came here not only to see you but also to attend a meeting.

它们连接的必须是两个相等的并列成分。
